Unpublished Operational Improvement (Karen)
For clients that are experiencing low productivity or space issues or are under pressure to reduce costs or lead times or both by their customers.
Typically when a client contacts us they are experiencing low productivity or lack of space or are being required to reduce costs or lead times or both by their customers.
Oneflow has enabled our clients to achieve hugely significant operational improvements throughout their organisations. We have helped clients deliver quality improvement, cost reduction and lead time improvements for example, reducing manufacturing lead time from 5 weeks to 5 days and identifying changes to just two key raw materials specifications that resulted in reducing waste equal to £9000 per annum. See our Case Studies section for more real life examples of our manufacturing consultancy and process improvement work.
At Oneflow we work with our client’s whole team to identify areas of waste and inefficiency. Often the issues they are experiencing are both operational and cultural. Through one-off workshops or a series of workshops, or interim project management we show our clients how to implement change, build high performing teams and train them to use simple tools that will enhance the operational efficiency of the whole factory, the whole business or even the entire supply chain.
Oneflow’s approach is based on many years of experience working with management, production and logistics teams in fast moving just-in-time environments, but each of our solutions is tailored to the specific and unique requirements of each of our clients. It is possible for SME businesses to be successful and profitable suppliers to blue chip organisations or their supply chains, we know because we have helped them to achieve and maintain this status.
The key to Oneflow’s success is that we provide honest and relevant consultancy work but we don’t walk away after the consultancy stage and leave our clients to do the implementation. We have a structured follow up plan, provided by Oneflow, to make sure the plans and ideas formulated during the consultancy stage actually get implemented and work for our clients. We have a vested interest in making sure the consultancy stage is correct as we will be by your side as this moves to the implementation stage.
We show our clients how to 'Learn to see' by mapping existing processes and using value stream mapping techniques. We look at data analysis and problem solving and then establish a map of what the business will be like in the future. Then we work with the whole team on the implementation plan and finally, how to measure the impact and determine continuous improvement actions and reporting. It is important that the whole business is involved in operational improvements and often some of the people closest to the day-to-day processes have the best insights and ideas for continuous improvement.
